This video series was created for our Missionary, Elder Bowman. Before Elder Bowman left us to serve a mission, he was taught to cook and bake bread. But being a missionary presents some unique challenges we had not considered. A missionary, has very little time or money. Things are often unpredictable. A missionary may have very little or no cooking equipment or spices. And can be transferred (moved) on any given six week period. These recipes were designed around these challenges.

As a family, we have learned both the spiritual and physical benefits of eating Sourdough bread. But the thought of using sourdough start while on a two year mission, seemed unpractical and even difficult. When I received a letter from one of the sisters feeding my missionary each week, requesting tips and tricks to sourdough, I began to wonder. As I wrote the book to send to her, I realized it could be very helpful as it is extremely inexpensive and not as hard as I thought.
